Happy Birthday, America!

Neither perfect in the government of the governed nor in treatment of one to another, I am thankful and blessed to have been born in the greatest society of the modern era. 240 years young, we are indeed, “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

Thank you to all past and present who have fought with certitude and conviction of these rights. Your courage and selflessness were not, are not, and never will be sacrificed in vain. Freedom is in the balance.

One Sojourner was on an unanticipated hiatus, but I’m happy to say, will return this week.

In the interim, I’ll enjoy the Gulf Coast sun, fun, and food with my family while clad in patriotic, functional, and trailer park-esque swim trunks. Only in America! 🙂
